Are You Kidding Me?!!? After reading the reviews of this place - my instinct-too good to be true. However I'm now WRITING a review to extol the virtues of Loyola Marina Auto Care. Paul & his team have a PASSION for cars! This was clear from the moment I stepped out of my car... a 2018 Nissan Altima Hybrid with over 258,000 miles! Knowing there could be any number of presenting issues, I was afraid that I would get quoted for multiple big ticket issues. To the contrary, the diagnostic check was less than the other independent dealer under consideration. (The other shop as of this writing has yet to return my call.) Paul took the vehicle in for diagnostics and called a few hours later. Paul disclosed that the LMAC team worked to SALVAGE potentially costly parts that appeared to still be usable! (No, we're not talking recycling brake rotors). Loyola Marina Auto Care is an old school, values driven repair shop. The team was fast, communicative, and honest! This is the type of business that I am reluctant writing a good review for - because I want it to be my secret - for fear that others will hone in on what a great shop this is and destroy everything that makes this place special. Then again, I don't think Paul & team would let success overtake their values. Thank you Paul - Loyola Marina Auto Care is truly an extraordinary business. -Don

Donny, honest, value-driven work is the only kind of work you can expect from our shop. Sometimes a vehicle's individual components can be brought back into operation with a little extra tinkering and we're always happy to do it when we can. High-mileage vehicles like your Altima can have a number of things start to fail at once, but they don't always need to be replaced. Thank you for choosing our shop to take care of your vehicle. I'm happy to see that we've gained such a friendly and appreciative customer. -Tim C., Vice President

Don't take your Jeep here. They missed major issues and tried to convince me, after the repair, that my vehicles new wobble was normal, and a normal thing among Jeeps. Whether it was a lie or ignorance, I do not know.

Nathan, I think there was a misunderstanding. The Jeeps like yours have a common problem with the shake that you described. That shake is common but NOT NORMAL. A common problem can have common remedies. We can help with that. We enjoy the off-road and even own Jeeps and Toyotas that are repaired and don'thave the shake you described. Your vehicle should have that problem repaired before it causes more problems. As off road enthusiasts, we want you to enjoy your Jeep on and off road like we do. I'm sorry if we didn't communicate that sufficiently. Please give us a chance to make it right. Call the shop and ask for Joe or Tim. Co-owners . We want you to be satisfied. -Tim C., Vice President

Tim and Paul are really wonderful technicians and have incredible customer service. My car broke down on imperial highway and their shop stayed open after hours to accommodate my tow arrival time. They even did me the favor of pushing my car into the garage so it would be safe overnight and took my key instead of just letting it be dropped in the box. I am so grateful to have met them, they are amazing people and really care about others. Highly recommend.

Lindsey, car troubles are never convenient, but we do what we can to make it easier for you. We're always here to lend a hand or two, so don't hesitate to reach out if you need anything! Thank your for trusting us with your car. -Tim C., Vice President

My boyfriend recommended this shop to me when he chose them for their good reviews. They were very honest with him about a brake assessment, suggesting the squeak should be repaired by the original installers for free rather than charging him to do it (this is why we were looking for a new shop). I brought my car in towards the beginning of the shut down. I needed oil, a smog check, and asked if they could look into some intense squealing I had when accelerating. Paul called me back later that morning and was extremely patient explaining some service my car was due for. He started off by asking how long I planned to keep my car - it is an 02 Civic. He wanted to make sure he was not suggesting expensive repairs if I didn't plan on keeping it long. I said I was in it for the long haul if possible (another 100,000 or more). I gave the thumbs up for all the suggested work (and we discussed some upcoming repairs to expect in the coming year). I picked up my very happy and much quieter car (all the squeaks fixed!) and have enjoyed great peace of mind since. I really feel like my red beast was in great hands and Paul was very responsive. I will come back for my needs in the future as I really feel like they had my best interest in mind through the whole process. Thank you!

Carisa, we will always be transparent with our customers and make sure they are fully informed about what needs to be done. We want you to have all of the information needed to help you make a good decision with your time and money. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience in this review. We really appreciate it. -Tim C., Vice President

I was extremely happy with Loyola Marina Auto Care. They were friendly, easy to work with, communicated well, timely, and priced fairly. The icing on the cake—they gave us a car wash without us asking. Not just a basic car wash, they really did a number on it inside and out. Love the extra care and going above and beyond. I'll be back for sure!

Loyola Marina Auto Care - I would give them beyond 5+++ STARS! They are incredible from customer service. Amazing follow up and follow through by Paul! Professional and incredibly nice/kind team at Loyola Marina Auto Care. Paul who helped me - was so impressive with knowledge about my car repairs needs and detailed line by line, what the issues are and what the "Next Steps" in their finding to resolve the engine light issues that was caused the car to become non-operative for last six months. And other auto shops could not figure out to find what the issues were... until I took it to Loyola Marina - which they found the "issue" immediately! and resolved the issue in such care and total precision. Thank you Paul ( you impressive customer relations ) and Tim (incredible mechanic! ) Thank you for everything you did on my Mustang. And especially, thank you for being on Triple AAA - " Highly Recommendation " List! Services: Engine repair, Auto engine tuning, Oil change

We live in San Diego and my college bound daughter just moved to LA. Her Kia needed an oil change. I recommended the place based on being a AAA station and yelp reviews. AAA stations are not the cheapest, but they are not usually dealer pricing either. My daughter brought her Kia here for the oil change. She said she showed her AAA card for the AAA discount. They gave her an estimate of 20. My guess this is labor. When she picked up the car, the bill was for 72 (+/ -). For an oil change? Dealers are cheaper. My AAA station in San Diego charges 39. I asked her if they discussed different oil options, and she said no. They also didn't apply the discount. I'm sure these guys are not scam artists, but I think they took advantage of a young women student and just did the premium service without asking. Not sure if we will use them again.
